Let ‘SUNSHINE’ Forever in Your Home!

Sunshine, aka 'the Cuddler'
Sunshine, aka 'the Cuddler'

Sunshine (ID 580026) wants to brighten your day. You may think that he was named after the sun due to his orange fur, which might be true, but we like to think that it's because he loves sun bathing so much. The staff at the HSBC have been calling him a "love muffin" because he loves to snuggle and give affection. A very kind cat lover has sponsored Sunshine’s adoption fee, you just have to provide a loving home for him. Can this 11 year young fellow spend his golden years with you?

When you adopt from the Humane Society of Broward County the dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive preliminary vaccinations, cats are feline leukemia tested, and dogs over 7 months are tested for heartworm. They also receive a flea/tick preventative, a 10-day limited health care plan from VCA Animal Hospitals, 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance and a bag of Purina ONE pet food. The HSBC opens daily at 10:30 and is located at 2070 Griffin Road, a block west of I-95. For more details call 954-989-3977 ext. 6. URGENT NEED:

Due to the large amount of kittens, cats, and other pocket pets in our shelter, we have been going through newspapers at an alarming rate... and now WE ARE OUT! 😱

If you have any newspapers in your house (or on their way to your recycling bin), can you PLEASE donate them to our shelter instead? Even one issue can help a handful of pets.

We use newspapers to line the cages of the shelter's cats, kittens, bunnies, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and more. Because they're absorbent and disposable, they help keep the cages sanitary and provide a little bit of warmth.

DOG DAYS:

Support the Humane Society of Broward County at the Galleria Mall’s ‘Dog Days’ Pet Adoption Expo & Fashion Show, Wednesday, August 16th, 5:30 -8:30 p.m.  Find more information here.

The Humane Society of Broward County relies on volunteers to help with many of the programs and services at the shelter. Whether it is being a foster parent, doing an educational presentation, walking dogs or helping with pet adoptions, there are many opportunities available if you have some time to devote.
